January 2012 -

We would like to wish all our clients and consultants a Happy New Year and look forward to a continued successful working relationship in 2012. We will also be starting our first major project in Northumberland and look forward to working further afield, throughout the UK.

The end of 2011 was the busiest period since the company's inception in 2009 and we are delighted to have secured a vast array of projects for the start of 2012.

Throughout 2011 ACA became known as a SIPS specialist Architecture practice. We intend to use our extensive eco design knowledge and our detailed knowledge of SIPS building principles to give an exceptional service to new home design in 2012.

December 2011 -

December has been a hectic month, with our practice completing 3 full planning applications, 2 building warrant applications and dealing with various on site builds.

We have also taken on an additional member of staff and revised our office layout. Our new technical specialist has over 25 years of experience and will be joining ACA permanently in 2012. We are delighted with this development and will now be able to meet the current work demand and progress in 2012.

We would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

November 2011 -

November seems to have flown in! We have secured a number of new extensions located in Fife and Midlothian, which will start in early December and run in to the New Year. We have also completed a number of Qualified Statement applications which will allow our clients to sell their homes, without costly delays.

Once again we assisted SIPS Industries at the Bath Home & Renovating Show, which was very interesting. We spoke to around 300 people interested in building or extending over the weekend, fingers crossed this will lead to more work for both companies.

Continuing the SIPS related news, ACA is becoming a SIPS specialist Architecture practice. We intend to use our extensive eco design knowledge and our detailed knowledge of SIPS building principles to give an exceptional service to new home design.

We have been working over the past 3 months to try and secure an outline planning application for a new house built in a city gap site location. We have now received word from the planners that this will be granted later this month. We are delighted with this outcome, showing that a detailed planning document helps with tricky applicatio

October 2011 -

This month we were delighted to assist our clients with an article and photograph which will be featured in the new look Dunfermline Press. The article is in conjunction with the Appin Nursery & Creche which we helped design and are assisting with the on-site supervision. The nursery is scheduled to open in early 2012 and will provide child care for around 40 children and also clean up a current eyesore building next to Dunfermline FC ground on Halbeath Road. The article will be out on 03 November 2011 and if you click this link you will get a sneak preview of the article.

September 2011 -

This month has been very successful for our company, seeing the award of a number of new projects including an interior remodelling in St Andrews and two new extensions in Dunfermline.

We have completed a number of Qualified Statements for clients who have had building work completed at their homes without prior Building Control consent. Our ability to complete this work within a very short period of time means that our clients can comlpete the sale of their properties without delay.

Throughout the month we have continued to provide on-site supervision at the Appin Crescent Nursery site on Halbeath Road in Dunfermline. We are excited with the progress and look forward to the opening in early 2012. We have also taken part in a photoshoot for the project which should feature in the local press in October

August 2011 -

We have had a very busy month, which has limited the time we can dedicate to updating our website! During this time we have lodged a large building warrant for a 4 bedroom executive home in Edinburgh and have immediately started the technical design stage.

We currently have 3 projects on site, a pre-school nursery, a retail unit and an Indian restaurant. The later has recently just opened to rave local reviews, with a very happy owner.

We are also delighted to have started design options on a new renewable energy home in the Borders. Look out for our new projects which will be updated over the coming weeks.

July 2011 -

July has been a very busy month for ACA, with a number of new private projects being awarded. We have also assisted a number of our retail clients, providing drawings for drink & food licence appliactions.

We have also secured building warrants for a pre-school nursery in Dunfermline and new retail shop in Cowdenbeath. These quickly approved applications have allowed our clients to progress with their business plans and star work early than orginally planned.

Towards the end of the month we will be meeting our first new clients under the Shelter Charity scheme, with a view to raising as much money as possible for the charity.

Architect in the House is an innovative scheme that matches homeowners with an RIBA chartered architect who gives up an hour of their time for a design consultation. In exchange, the homeowner makes a suggested donation of £40 to Shelter, the housing and homelessness charity.

June 2011

The month of June seems to have flown by... During this busy period we have completed logo & signage designs for the Bombay Brasserie, which is a first for ACAltd. We have started and finished designs for a new shop premisses in Cowdenbeath and have designed a number of new extensions.

We are delighted to have been awarded a major commission to design a mixed use rural development, which will include 2 Passive Homes and a series of Forestry Commission cabins. The master planning of this development should be completed by the end of the month.

We have also started work on a commercial development of 6 flats in an prominent building in Dunfermline. We are currently in discussions with planners and local estate agents.

Keeping up the theme of new projects we have just started work on a new 4 bedroom home in Edinburgh, where we will work with SIPS Industries to provide our client with a highly efficient cost effective home!

May 2011

The month of May has been very busy at ACA, we have lodged 4 planning applications and 5 building warrants. Working on a variety of projects including a new pre-school nursery, a new restaurant, a garage conversion and various house extensions.

We also have numreous projects getting costed by our extensive team of contractors and consultants and should see around 4 projects starting on site during the month. We hope to announce the award of 2 family Passive House homes towards the end of the month. Look out for our new projects which are currently being updated!

SCOTTISH HOME BUILDING & RENOVATING SHOW - SECC GLASGOW
We are pleased to announce that we will be attending the Scottish Home Building and Renvoating Show on the weekend of 21 - 22 May, at the SECC in Glasgow. We will be assisting our friends at SIPS Industries on stand number 421, who we are delighted to work in partnership with.

March 2011

March has been a very busy and productive month with 3 new projects being confirmed and a number of new contacts being made, which will hopefull lead to work in the future.

We are delighted to be working on designs for a new pre-school nursery in Dunfermline, which has just been awarded planning permission. The development will see a prominent building which has been empty for around 5 years being modernised to provide a much needed local service.

We are also starting an exciting home extension and attic conversion to a large executive home in the Duloch area of Dunfermline. This project will add significant space and value to an already desirable family home. We hope to use our full expertise in Archicad and design knowledge to create open plan flexible spaces for a lovely growing family.

Allan took part in a press interview this month, discussing his involvement in the BNI networking organisation and he also celebrated his 30th birthday!

February 2011

We are currently working on a residential restoration project, which involves a garage conversion, a dormer extension and a large rooftop balcony overlooking rolling hills. The garage conversion will add a second storey including an office with built in storage and en-suite.

We are also working on designs for a revolutionary low cost Passive House system. This project could provide a versatile house structure which can be added to easily over the life of the building - growing with the owners. January 2011

Happy new year to all of our existing clients and a very warm welcome to any new visitors. We enjoyed a very busy end to 2010, which has continued into the new year. Recently we have completed designs for a 10,000sqft commercial unit which is currently awaiting planning approval, along with a number of smaller residential extensions and attic conversions.

We are currently looking at a number of derelict sites for a potential mixed use housing and commercial development, for one of our commercial property developers. This will bring both jobs and housing into a struggling local area and also bring much needed local amenities.

July 2010

As part of the continued growth of ACA the decision has been taken to form a private limited company, this will allow us to service large scale commercial projects.

We are currently taking part in Architect in the House, a fundraising initiative between the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and Shelter that’s now in its 14th year. Since its launch, the scheme has raised more than £1 million for Shelter, including £105,000 last year alone.

Some new projects procured recently included; a number of large scale housing masterplan projects and various domestic extensions throughout Fife.

April 2010

We are delighted to announce that we have completed the move to our new office premises and would like to invite you to come and visit us at Buchan House, Carnegie Campus in Dunfermline. Our new home benefits from easy transport links and has a large private meeting area which allows ACA to present projects via a large scale digital projector. January 2010

Since inception ACA has secured 14 individual commissions, including a pair of neighbouring steading extensions and our first global project in Quezon, Philippines. Recently we have been working on our first commercial projects, building up a close working relationship with Monkey Bizness, Uk’s premier children’s indoor play centre operators and are currently working on centres in Edinburgh and Glasgow.

ACA is excited to be currently working on the restoration and extension to a cottage within the Conservation area of Letham, Fife. We intend to upload the full project information next month, however if you cant wait until then - watch out for images uploaded via twitter!

We also hope to announce a number of new commercial and private projects by the end of February which will see the continued growth of Allan Corfield Architects through 2010. A special thanks to everyone who has given advice, support and there time to make this all possible.
